that's it

i've hopped and hopped and hopped and i've arrived at many islands and left them to go to new ones and i loved each island and each ocean and sea travel in between and i loved snorkeling in the sea and climbing volcanoes while on dry land and i really enjoyed relaxing at the shore and getting on a boat to sail away. and then last week i had a poppy seed cake that made me feel so clearly that i'm enjoying the pure moments of simplicity now :) the day after i got another poppy seed cake at a cafe i love in lisbon. it was so cozy and sweet in that cafe while i ate that slice of simplicity. so subtle. it was then that i noticed how beautiful it is to feel an uncomplicated pleasure so different from a chocolate cake bursting out strong and all controlling flavor in our mouths. i'm at a poppy seed moment :) clean and transparent and light :) and i'm moving to a new blog

true love

just got home from a concert in the day that celebrates a very special anniversary for me :) every 23rd of january i remember the moment life changed when i was a teenager and fell in love for the first time in praia das macas. in these years after that, i have fallen in and out of love many times, my heart has been incredibly red, broken, and brought back to life and made red again, i have crossed oceans and explored continents, i climbed up mountains and snorkeled in beautiful seas, i've moved a lot and i've enjoyed moments of stillness, i've said many hellos and many goodbyes :) and i remain faithful to what the last song of tonight's concert said. it was a version of daniel johnston's "true love will find you in the end". here's another version i like

ísland

i woke up missing iceland :) the strong wind that crosses the whole island and makes you appreciate your windows so much. the various types of snow that can be so soft and light but also so harsh and freezing. and that special light in the winter when there's so little light that you start noticing different shades and tones :) throughout the day i noticed all that iceland is inside me and it's not that i actually miss it so much... i just really LOVE all that iceland is in me ** because it's still in my body, that calm, the strong and always present nature, the ice and the fire, the space, the light, the creativity that the island inspires... all that beauty :) i think i just found it again deep in me today =) takk ísland for being so special!!

have a great last dinner in the old year with good company and one of your favorite desserts :) open a kick ass champagne at midnight :) go for a refreshing new year walk :) sleep well :) wake up to the new year with home made perfect pancakes with carob flour and great maple syrup :) and let the year unfold as it finds its way to the realization that this is indeed a GREAT YEAR 8)
